The year 2020 is a great one for America! The tour of the sensational musical The Last Ship, created by the magnificent poet and singer Sting based on his own biography, will take place in the USA. Sting will act as Jackie White.

Starting in January, performances will be held in Los Angeles, the Amansson Theater. Then there will be concerts in San Francisco, Washington, St. Paul and Detroit.

The tour management will be carried out by Lorne Campbell, Artistic Director of Northern Stage, Newcastle. Under his leadership, UK tour took place in 2018. In 2019, he was the organizer of the premiere in Canada, in which Sting participated.

Gideon Fletcher, the main character of the musical, returns to his native seafaring town of Wallsend after 15 years of wandering. Oliver Savile will play his role, as in the Canadian premiere. The ghosts of the past haunt him, but the main struggle is the grapple with himself, between the former and the present Gideon. The scene takes place in the city where Sting grew up and this is very symbolic.

The star cast includes Francis McNamee, Jackie Morrison, Marc Akinfolarin and others.

In the fall of 2014, the premiere of the star musical The Last Ship took place on Broadway. Since then, it ran for 105 performances. The director of the production was Joe Mantello, and his work was nominated for tow Tony Award. Sting's music and lyrics for the musical are great as always. He wrote them with John Logan and Brian Yorkie, Tony and Pulitzer Prize winners.
